Cock Horse - Suffolk Show -2010
(May 31, 2009)Once again we took an entry for the cock horse class at the Suffolk show, this time we decided to try something a bit different and took a pair.
The cock horse would have been, used to help a team of four horses pull it's coach & passengers up steep hills.
The cock horse would wait for a team at the bottom of the hill & hitch on & pull it to the top, then unhitch & walk back down to the bottom & wait for the next team.
In very hilly parts of the country a pair of horses would have been used.
Today you will still find many public houses called the Cock Inn.
